About

Us

Classical Roadshow provides unforgettable musical and educational experiences for primary school children across London. Aimed at KS2, children learn the songs in school using the resources we send out, then sing their hearts out with hundreds of other children at a major concert hall, accompanied by a top professional orchestra.

Our shows are linked to the KS2 curriculum so children are learning through singing, about subjects from the Great Fire of London to the Battle of Britain. All of our shows have been specially commissioned by Classical Roadshow to be performed by schools, a professional orchestra, and soloists. The soloists are professional performers who tell the story of the show with speaking and singing in between the schools' songs.

At Classical Roadshow the children are performers and are integral to each piece. While participating, they are also watching professionals on stage and learning about the show's subject. Classical Roadshow believes singing enhances a child's education, and since it was founded in 1988, many thousands of children have enjoyed performing and learning through song at our unique events.

What to expect on
show day

When your school arrives at the concert hall, you’ll be shown to your seats in the auditorium. Once all the schools are seated, we will welcome our orchestra and conductor to the stage. To start with, the conductor will practice some of the songs with the children to warm up and then they are introduced to some of the instruments of the orchestra, demonstrated by the players. Finally, with everyone dressed up for the occasion, including the orchestra, the lights go down, the in-character narrators join us on stage, and the performance begins! The whole thing lasts around 1 hour. Keep and eye on our website for information about our next show.
